Buyers Laboratory Launches Field Testing Expands Product Offerings
April 30, 2004 — HACKENSACK, New Jersey — Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI) announced today that it will publish field test reports for the document imaging device marketplace beginning in June, while continuing to conduct its exhaustive lab tests.
Michael Danziger, BLI's CEO, explained: "Purchasers, dealers and manufacturers of digital imaging equipment have strongly urged BLI to produce field test reports as supplements to our extensive lab test reports. They want BLI's expertise in lab testing of this equipment to be brought to the field so they can get a preliminary product assessment from us as soon as possible after a product is introduced. Today we answer that need. Our field test reports will be the industry's most credible and trusted reports of their kind, providing the marketplace with an invaluable resource in evaluating the latest product offerings early in each product's life cycle. Of course, we will continue to test devices in our lab, as it's the only place in which our complete range of extensive tests, including reliability testing, can be conducted. In this way, we'll not only be able to meet our clients' need for quick and early product reviews, but also continue to provide them with the comprehensive product assessments that are only available from a BLI lab report. Undoubtedly, the work we do in the field will also allow us to publish our lab test reports faster than ever."
Anthony Polifrone, BLI's Managing Director, added, "We're confident that our field test reports will be the most accurate and comprehensive of their kind in the industry, and that coupled with our unique lab test reports, we will provide our clients with an extensive menu of reports that is unmatched. We also want our clients to know that a BLI field report will provide data that's based on what we believe can be legitimately assessed in the field, and that, while there will naturally be differences in content, they can count on getting the same high level of quality in our field reports that they're used to getting in our lab reports. We will provide these reports to our subscribers at no charge until the end of September, allowing them to become familiar with their quality and value while we build a critical mass of reports."
Polifrone added, "We're also proud to announce that Pia Beddiges, manager of competitive information, will be spearheading this new initiative. Pia, who has been in the office products industry for more than 20 years, 16 of which have been with BLI, will be joined by Rebecca Kiil, technical analyst/editorial manager, who will be managing the editorial aspects of this service."
